a 12 week self-reliance course (to start and grow my business) offered through my church. Part of this weeks assignment is to share some of the principles I learn. What I like about this course is that it helps me merge the spiritual and temporal. In the past these have been separate in my mind, which has kept me from experiencing financial abundance.
The following I need to share: (as stated on the first page of our course book in a message from the first Presidency of the the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints)
“The Lord has declared “it is my purpose to provide for my saints” (D&C 104:15). This revelation is a promise from the Lord that He will provide temporal blessings and open the door of self-reliance, which is the ability for us to provide the necessities of life for ourselves and our family members.
I realized the Lord will open doors of opportunity and self reliance. He will show me the way and make my dream and vision a reality. He will make the path clear to me, and actually OPEN DOORS! If I put in the effort and time, the Lord will take care of the rest.
“This class will help me learn and put into practice principles of faith, education, hard work and trust in the Lord. Accepting and living the principles will better enable you to receive the temporal blessings promised by the Lord.”
When I read this I get the feeling that I am practicing the very principles or laws by which the Lord operates and He is sharing them with me. Faith, education, hard work and trust in Him are his designated pathway for progressions. Humans didn’t make this up. These are universal principles These are the doors that I choose to open and walk through that will help me to become more like my Savior, to bring me closer to his ways. The closer I am to Him the less lost I feel. Any path I can walk that will bring me closer to the Savior, the more I want to do. As presiding President of the church Russel M. Nelson States “There is a strong connection between Gods laws and his Love”
“We invite you to diligently study and apply these principles and teach them to others. As you do so, your life will be blessed. You will learn how to act on your path toward greater self-reliance. You will be blessed with greater hope, peace and progress.
I love this promise. I am going to test it! I already have trust in the Lord he will help me, this alone gives me hope and peace. As I do my part, walk through the doors of hard work and learning and following the course that has been prepared, I will be able to progress. Once again I can see the hand in of the Lord in this already. He prepares the course, it is this life journey. He has given us a very sure way to make it back to his presence.
My friend Cristal says that we are just fractals of ourselves. This is true of God as well. If this course is truly inspired by the spirit of God (which I believe to be the case) then it will function through Gods principles, laws and inspirations. I am going to put this to the test. I believe it to be inspired. I trust that the Lord will show me how to act, what to say, who to talk to, and have the strength to overcome any obstacle I may encounter, emotionally, physically, mentally, financial or otherwise. The Lord wants me able to kick some butt~ in the nicest of ways.
